About the Event
This is a class for anyone who is brand new to free-motion quilting on a domestic machine, or quilters wanting a refresher. We will go over the five skills of free-motion quilting one at a time, covering subjects like machine settings, thread, needles, gloves, and tension. I’ll answer whatever questions you have. Then, we will get you stitching on your machine. You will try some basic stitching, test your tension and get used to moving your hands to make designs on your piece. I recommend taking my class “Designs for New Quilters” after finishing this class, to get more stitching practice and try new designs.
To enjoy this class you will need:
- A device such as a phone, tablet or computer, with an internet connection.
- Free Zoom software on the device you will use to join the meeting (see your supply list for information).
Note: Occasionally a machine doesn't cooperate with our plans for free-motion quilting. Some problems are quick to address, but more challenging problems might not be addressed until the end of class so that attendees without problems can move on. While I am good at addressing FMQ problems, I can’t guarantee that we will be able to solve yours in class time.
Registration is limited to 8 students. If you have a friend who wants to attend the class they need to purchase their own ticket, they cannot sit in with you on your class.
